Basingstoke & Deane Local Giveaway (November 2026): Terms and Conditions
This giveaway is separate from any other Hobbster promotion. Entering another Hobbster promotion does not stop you entering this one.
1. The Promoter
The Promoter is Hobbster, 182-184 High Street North, Area 1/1, Suite 62HH, East Ham, London E6 2JA. Contact: info@hobbster.co.uk.
2. Who can enter
The giveaway is open only to people aged 18 or over whose main home is in the Basingstoke and Deane borough, Hampshire. Some postcode districts are shared with neighbouring council areas, so having an accepted postcode does not on its own make you eligible: your home address must be within the Basingstoke and Deane borough boundary. Employees of the Promoter, their immediate families and anyone professionally connected with the giveaway are not eligible.
3. Promotion period
The giveaway opens when the entry page at www.hobbster.co.uk/pages/basingstoke-giveaway is published in October 2026 and closes at 23:59 (UK time) on Sunday 15 November 2026 (the "Closing Date"). Entries received after the Closing Date will not be counted.
4. How to enter
No purchase is necessary. You can enter in either of the following ways:
- Online: complete the entry form at www.hobbster.co.uk/pages/basingstoke-giveaway with your email address and postcode, and confirm that you live in the Basingstoke and Deane borough. Entering online subscribes you to Hobbster marketing emails.
- Free entry without joining our mailing list: email info@hobbster.co.uk with the subject line "Basingstoke Giveaway", your full name and your postcode before the Closing Date. You will not be added to our mailing list.
Existing Hobbster subscribers and customers are welcome to enter, but nobody is entered automatically: everyone must enter using one of the routes above. All entry routes have an equal chance of winning. Each person can have one standard entry, plus any bonus entries earned under section 5. Entries made using multiple or false email addresses, false postcodes, or by automated means, will be disqualified.
5. Bonus entries for referrals (share your local code)
5.1 Each online entrant is emailed a personal local referral code (starting BAS-) and share link from info@hobbster.co.uk. Local codes only work in this giveaway. Entrants who enter by email under section 4 can request a local code in the same email.
5.2 You earn one bonus entry for each person who enters this giveaway using your local code or link and qualifies under 5.3, up to a maximum of 5 bonus entries per person (6 entries in total).
5.3 A referral qualifies only if the person referred: (a) is aged 18 or over and lives in the Basingstoke and Deane borough; (b) enters this giveaway using your code or link before the Closing Date; (c) confirms their email address before the Closing Date if we send them a confirmation link; and (d) uses a genuine, personal email address. Existing Hobbster subscribers and customers can count as referrals. Disposable or temporary email addresses do not qualify.
5.4 You cannot refer yourself, including by using other email addresses you control. The person referred receives their own standard entry and their own local code.
5.5 Only share your code with people you know who you think would be interested, and do not use it in a way that spams others. The Promoter may cancel bonus entries obtained through spam, fake sign-ups or any other abuse.
5.6 No purchase is needed to earn bonus entries. The Promoter will check all referrals before the draw, and its decision on whether a referral qualifies is final.
6. The prize
There is one prize: one 12" x 9" matte black framed canvas of a Hobbster magazine-cover design (the winner's choice of "The Cultured Canine" or "In the Doghouse") featuring a photo of the winner's own dog, with a retail value of £59.99, including free delivery to the winner's home address in the Basingstoke and Deane borough. The winner must send the Promoter a photo of their dog that they took themselves or have permission to use. The Promoter may crop, retouch and add cover text to the photo, and decides the final design, but will share a preview with the winner before printing. If a photo is not clear enough to print well, the Promoter will ask for another. The size and frame are fixed and cannot be changed. The prize is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative. Because Hobbster products are printed to order, please allow up to 21 working days for delivery after the winner approves their cover. The Promoter will aim to deliver before Christmas but cannot guarantee this.
7. Welcome discount
New subscribers who sign up to Hobbster emails receive a one-time 15% discount code for their first order. The welcome discount is a separate offer and is not part of the prize draw. It is available to new subscribers only, can be used once per customer, and cannot be combined with other discount codes. Existing subscribers and those who enter by email under section 4 do not receive the welcome discount. Using the discount does not improve your chance of winning.
8. Winner selection
The winner will be selected at random from all valid entries, including any qualifying bonus entries, by Wednesday 18 November 2026. The Promoter's decision is final.
9. Notifying the winner and checking eligibility
The winner will be contacted by email within 7 days of the draw and asked for their delivery address, which must be within the Basingstoke and Deane borough. Before the prize is sent, the winner must provide proof of address, such as a utility bill, bank statement or council tax letter dated within the last 3 months, showing their name and an address in the borough. Any proof of address is used only to check eligibility and is deleted once the prize has been delivered. If the winner does not reply within 14 days of being contacted, cannot show that they meet section 2, or cannot accept the prize, the Promoter may select an alternative winner at random.
10. Publicity
The winner's first name and town or village will be available on request by emailing info@hobbster.co.uk for one month after the Closing Date. The winner may be asked, but is not required, to take part in publicity such as a photo with their canvas. The winner can object to their details being shared by contacting the Promoter.
11. Your data
Personal data collected in this giveaway will be used to run the giveaway and deliver the prize. The winner's dog photo is used only to make their prize (shared with our print partner for that purpose) and will not be used in marketing without the winner's permission. We store the first part of your postcode (for example RG21) to check you are in the Basingstoke and Deane area; we do not store your full postcode from the entry form. If you signed up to Hobbster emails, we will also send you marketing emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and unsubscribing after the Closing Date will not affect your entry. If you were referred by a friend, we record which local code you used so we can award their bonus entry, but your friend will not see your email address. We do not ask entrants for their friends' email addresses. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.
12. Social media
This giveaway is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram, Facebook or Meta. Entrants release Meta from any liability relating to the giveaway.
13. General
The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, suspend or amend the giveaway if circumstances outside its reasonable control make this necessary, and will give notice where possible. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence. By entering, you agree to these terms.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
